Abstract

Focusing on ship coating operations, this paper addressed the issue of substrate pretreatment in coating processes, which has long plagued the quality of ship anticorrosive coatings.By analyzing the failure mechanisms of anticorrosive coatings and the coating process, and considering the demand for low surface treatment coating processes in actual ship engineering, the current status of surface pretreatment processes, rust-tolerant coatings, and rust converter applications in ship coatings was systematically described. The types of rust-tolerant coatings and rust converters were differentiated, and their functional mechanisms in low surface treatment anticorrosive coatings were discussed. Finally, the future research directions of low surface treatment coating technologies were summarized and prospected.
