Abstract

Enamel coatings composed of inert oxides have a silicon-oxygen network structure similar to that of glass and exhibit excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion.However,the high temperature softening and intrinsic brittleness of enamel limit the long life service of enamel coatings in high temperature environments.In order to promote the marketization of enamel coatings,after analyzing the reasons affecting the service life of enamel coatings and the second-phase modification mechanism,four methods to solve the problem of enamel coating softening and peeling were put forward,namely,particle toughening,adjustment of thermal expansion coefficient,adjustment of interfacial stability and crack self-repair.It was expected to provide guidance for the research on long life service ability of enamel coatings under high temperature corrosion or thermal cycle impact conditions.
