Abstract

In TaHe oilfield, inner repairing technique is usually adopted to repair the pipe with corrosion perforated defect, which includes HTPO interpenetration repair technology and continuous pressure hose repair technology. The HTPO pipe can’t sustain pressure while its cost is low, and the continuous pressure hose can sustain pressure while its cost is high. But, there is no clear understanding on how to select inner repair material reasonably on site. To solve this problem, by simplifying the actual engineering problem into a physical model, the finite element software was used to establish the relevant model for calculation, which could give the critical defect size of the HTPO inner repair pipeline and could be verified by full-scale hydraulic test. The verified finite element model could accurately give the critical defect size of the commonly used pipelines in TaHe oilfield, which was repaired by HTPO pipe under the operating pressure of 2.5 MPa and 4.0 MPa, providing technical guidance for the actual field construction on site.
