Abstract

In order to ensure the safe operation of oil and gas pipelines in service, the research on various pipeline detection methods and their applicability to pipelines has become a hot topic. In order to study the adaptability of electromagnetic eddy current testing technology in the detection of small-diameter, low-pressure and low-velocity pipeline, a complete set of detection scheme was established to carry out the pilot inspection of the project target pipeline, and then the internal metal loss depth distribution of the target pipe was analyzed, and C scan and DR method were adopted for excavation verification of the pipeline.Combined with the obtained test data, the integrity assessment of defects was conducted to provide a certain basis for a comprehensive understanding of pipeline status, taking reasonable maintenance measures and realizing the scientific management of pipelines. The engineering practice showed that the electromagnetic eddy current detection technology had good adaptability to the small-diameter, low-pressure and low-rate pipelines, and was sensitive to internal corrosion defects, which would provide a certain reference for field pipeline detection.
