Abstract

Zinc ash is a serious defect of hot-dip galvanized process and has great impact on products with high surface level requirements. During galvanizing process, the zinc ash formed by the oxidation of zinc vapor in a furnace snout was easy to adhere to the surface of strip steel, influencing the surface quality of the coating. At present, the effective control measures were to control the dew point by humidifying the furnace snout. If the dew point of the furnace snout was too high or too low, it would produce defects. In this paper, the control methods of selecting the appropriate dew point by controlling the process parameters such as pressure and flow were expounded according to the existing working conditions.
