Abstract

The corrosion causes of the surface of finished J442D automobile decorative strip after 480 h neutral salt spray corrosion test were analyzed by optical microscope and scanning electron microscope. Results showed that the main cause of corrosion was the excessive internal inclusions in this batch of materials, and the main inclusions were class B composite inclusions of Ca - Al - Si - Mg, and the sizes of inclusions were large and the plasticity was high. At the same time, the type and size of inclusions in raw material 2D plate were the same as that of the finished decorative strip. Through the control of ladle, material and process in the subsequent steelmaking process, the type, quantity and size of inclusions were greatly improved, and the finished decorative strip was not corroded any more.
