Abstract

In order to study the performance of Al-Zn-In-Sn-Mg quinary aluminum-based sacrificial anode materials in oilfield produced water, four sets of Al-Zn-In-Sn-Mg quinary aluminum-based sacrificial anode materials with different alloy compositions were melted. The open-circuit potential, current efficiency, corrosion uniformity and adhesion of corrosion products of the four sacrificial anode materials were tested in the produced water environment. The microstructure, second-phase morphology and distribution of alloy elements were observed using metallographic microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy - dispersive spectroscopy (EDS).Through potentiodynamic polarization curves, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and accelerated corrosion tests, the anode material with best performance was selected from the four sets of anode samples.Based on the electrochemical test results, the activation mechanism of the alloy materials in produced water was analyzed.
