Abstract

In order to explore the corrosion behavior of the train body in a humid and hot marine environment, this study analyzed the corrosion situation of the load -bearing structure of the Harmony Express train body during its mid-service period.Stereomicroscopes,X-ray diffractometers, scanning electron microscopes, and energy-dispersive spectrometers were used to analyze the micromorphology, elemental composition, and distribution of the corrosion products. The research results showed that the corrosion products on the train body surface were Al2O3,AlO(OH), and Al(OH)3, and the main form of corrosion was pitting corrosion. The analysis indicated that in the humid and hot atmospheric environments, the presence of Cl- destroyed the Al2O3 protective layer on the surface of the aluminum alloy. Moreover, the heterogeneous materials corrosion potential difference between aluminum alloy and carbon steel accelerated the corrosion of aluminum alloy car body.
